Effective April 1, 2009, the
Minister of the Environment of Ontario has
introduced a requirement under the Waste Diversion
Act, 2002 (WDO) and the Waste Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Plan that requires fees
to be paid on the delivery of certain computer
products into the province. This is being
administered through Ontario Electronic Stewardship,
